Maybe all the twentysomethings are obsessed with cartoons because all the “adult” shows show the same traumas, frustrations, and anxieties we already have to deal with 24/7.
Sometimes you just wanna watch a princess of power or a magical alien child do fancy magic stuff in a lower-stakes world where you can be reasonably sure you won’t be subjected to depictions of extreme violence, gore, assault, and sex without warning, ya dig?
It’s true and you should say it
so much adult media likes to pretend hopelessness and pessimism and cynicism are something profound instead of the same depressing nonsense that you can find self-righteous assholes spouting on any given corner of the internet
society acts like we’re supposed to outgrow hope somewhere between sixteen and twenty-two and it’s absolute bullshit
being an adult isn’t about giving up
hold on, let me repeat that
just in case y'all didn’t hear me in the back
being an adult isn’t about giving up
Surprise!
ahhhhh!!!
Stop telling yourself that the grass is greener on the other side, because it’s not. It is greener where you water it. So take control of your life and start watering your own pastures and grow your own greener grasses.
Fuck grass, clover is a nitrogen fixing legume and dandelions are super useful. Be the weeds. Grow on concrete in defiance of those who would thwart you.
It’s also greener where you bury a body
There are three kinds of gardeners
opposite energy from tasting turkish delights for the first time and wondering wtf was edmund on
you ever have a piece of bread that’s so good you understand the plot of les miserables?

I always get so fucking mad when I remember that it’s actually a 16-year-old Algerian girl who influenced BOTH Picasso and Matisse. and. No one gives a rat’s ass about her work which was very focused on women and nature. History -or people dare I say- didn’t bother to remember her name because she was a young Algerian woman and no one cares about Maghrebi/Arab women. unlike P*casso & M*tisse who both became legends, almost gods both during their lives and after their deaths, no one knows her.
Her name was Baya Mahieddine.
This is some good stuff 👌🏻
